Hell yeah. Great column! I truly do not understand anyone supporting the candidate who called those who died in service to their country "suckers and losers".

Thank you, Todd…my jump buddy!!Unfortunately I do understand. It seems as if half our country wants to excel in disappointment because it’s too goddamn easy!

“Our commander and cheat.” That’s a good one. I definitely understand why you wanted people to think you were Canadian.

And yes, Trump can definitely fuck all the way off for calling dead American soldiers “suckers and losers.”

It still enrages me that the Bloated Yam calls real heroes "suckers" and "losers."

But then, he did fake bone spurs four times.

He is nothing but a coward.

And you were in a cemetery full of heroes. Some of them have gold letters in their tombstones...which means they received Medals of Honor. Posthumously.

"Suckers." "Losers." Yeah. Right. I hope everyone sees my anger.

Excellent piece today. I honestly can't understand how ANY military person could vote for that pos. June 10, 1944: my mom's first husband was shot down in his P-38 Lightning over Ploesti, Romania escorting a bombing mission on "Hitler's Gas Station" - all the oil refineries there. He was a few weeks shy of his 23rd birthday. And my mom- who had just turned 20 - was such a "loser" that when she got the telegram he was MIA and presumed lost, she went and enlisted in the US NAVY. Not a lot of Mexican women were in the WAVES, but she was one of the few. Took care of the "suckers" at Corona Naval Hospital in Riverside, CA who had been wounded in all those horrific battles in the Pacific theater. That's where she met my dad, another "loser" - who was a Navy corpsman working in the burn unit. I am so grateful neither of them lived long enough to see the rise of another "America First:" movement and the shameful behavior of the pants-crapper in chief.

Jude, thank you for for sharing that story.

The P-38 had great range, but often had trouble with German fighters. It was better in Europe as a fighter-bomber. In the Pacific, however, it dominated the skies, knocking down inferior Mitsubishi Zeroes at high altitude. I wrote an article for WW2 History magazine on the plane. You can find it at the Warfare History Network website, I think.

OMG I have your article in my research files! THANK YOU!

Oh, terrific. They cut it some. The P-38’s finest hour was the Yamamoto ambush on April 18, 1943, one year to the date after the Doolittle Raid.

Admiral Yamamoto’s Betty bomber’s wreckage is still rusting away on Bougainville.

I can probably send you the original article, if you like.
